Nice host with PHP/MySQL support that can be used for anything; from blogs to e-commerce sites. You get 300MB space, 80 000 MB bandwith, and no file size limits for free. Works with Joomla and Mambo without problems.
You would expect that host like this will have a lot of ads/pop-ups, but it doesn't. This free host is better than some commercial PHP web-hosts i've seen. Their support is little slow, but that's ok. For a free host.

This one is very good premium web host. For 6.95$ you get 15GB space, 400GB bandwith, free domain, support for 6 domains, 1000 FTP accounts...

This one is excellent for beginners. It has very good file manager, site creation tool and everything you need to make your website. Once you signup, they give you maximum file upload, bandwith and disk space limit. In my case, that was 8000kb file upload limit, 50 000kb space, and 2.5 GB bandwith limit. The bad thing is that they place two ads at the top of the page, which sometimes override site header. You can also place your ads (eg. adsense).
Besides this, they also have Premium account.
